On my recent journey to health and wellness, I have mostly focused all my energy on exercising, meditating and trying to eat right (Key Word – TRYING). I recently read somewhere, though, that proper dental hygiene (or lack thereof) has a huge impact on our health and digestive system which got me thinking about how rarely I visit the dentist’s office!

To be honest, I can’t even remember the last time I’ve gone to the dentist! I just always thought that as long as I kept brushing and flossing, I’d be good. So I started to ask around (my circle of friends) on who they would recommend as a dentist, and more often than not, I always got the same answer – GAOC clinic. I know some of my friends have even gone under minor surgery with them so if they were okay to do surgery there, then I felt safe to have a check up and cleaning!

On my first visit, I met my dentist and they just asked me if I had any major dental concerns. I admitted to having lost my retainers years ago and the jury is still out on that one but just to have a holistic picture of my dental situation, they took me to the x-ray room and got scans of my bone structure.  I thought I’d come back in a few days to get my results but I seem to have forgotten that we are in the 21st century and my x-ray images appeared on the screen 2 seconds after! The whole thing took less than 5 minutes. What rock have I been living under?

After the x-ray it was time to get a mould of my teeth which again took just a few seconds! I must say, this efficiency is really selling me on this place. That, and the focus on hygiene. Everyone who entered past the reception area, had to wear these very fashionable hair and shoe wraps. Honestly,  with the route GUCCI has taken in this season’s collection, I would not be surprised to see this down the runway some time soon! haha! You read it here first.

I know a lot of people tend to dread going to the dentist but I highly believe that prevention is always better than a cure and I’d much rather keep my dental health in good condition now to avoid any major issues in the future – I am on root canal watch, though! So fingers crossed I won’t need it but even if I do, I know I’m in good hands with GAOC.

I’ll keep you guys posted on my progress but for now I’ve just finished my morning cup of coffee and there’s a voice in my head telling me to go brush again to avoid stains. So I’m gonna go do that! But if you’re like me and haven’t seen the dentist in years, I highly suggest booking your next appointment soon.

Check out GAOC’s website here for more details on their branches.
