Just a few weeks away from the final Close Up Forever Summer music festival so I figured now would be a good time to share a few things I’ve learned along the way from all the festivals I’ve been to and how you can be as prepared as possible to make this the best Close Up Forever Summer yet.

Cash is King (usually): This depends on where your going but usually it’s best to have some cash on you in case you get thirsty / hungry. This was you can avoid the long queues for the ATMS. Be sure to have small bills as well so you won’t have to worry about the stalls needing to break big bills. You may want to check with the festival first though because other times, they use the electronic bracelets that you can just refill at one go, those are usually easier to deal with.

Comfortable clothes (especially shoes) – the last thing you want is to be itchy or in pain because of your outfit choice! Wear something that’s breathable and can last all day and night.

A Touch up kit – powder/ oil control film/ lipstick

Sun Factor – Music festivals usually mean that you will be staying under the sun all day so some reliable sunscreen is much-needed. Also don’t forget a hat and a pair of sunnies too!

Water – They don’t usually let you bring in your own drinks but it’s really important to stay hydrated if you’ll be dancing under the sun all day and night. Believe me, you’re going to want to stay ‘til the end of the show and not need to be escorted out because you fainted of dehydration – not cool (and totally avoidable)

Hygiene 101:

Portalets- No one ever wants to deal with these but sometimes, when nature calls, you gotta go. So pack some tissues with you cause chances are they won’t have any in there. Also, for all the germophobes out there (like me), some antibacterial wipes are useful too and a small bottle of hand sanitizer/ alcohol.

Staying Fresh: Who goes to a close up event with bad breath?! Haha! I think it goes without saying that you should be able to stay fresh all throughout the night, especially if you’re bringing someone special *wink wink* (bad breath = major turn-off!) Even more so if you’re planning to meet someone there. So make sure to do as we do and brush with Close Up before the event so that you’re confident that you’ll stay fresh all night long!

Most importantly, don’t forget to have fun! That’s what the night is all about. Make memories with your friends that will last you a lifetime.
