Need a last minute Valentines getaway idea? How about a drive down to Clark for some r&r and a little adventure. This would actually be a great road trip idea for the barkada, family, or even for lovebirds. I just recently came back from an overnight trip in Clark this week and I was so surprised to see how much they had going on up there. In a span of two days, we got to go bowling, ride carousels, eat good food, explore the city in a kalesa, play games in Sky Ranch, and top it all off with a hot air balloon ride! Pretty awesome, if you ask me. The best part was that they were all pretty near each other.
If you want to copy our itinerary, then drop by SM San Fernando Downtown to catch a kalesa ride around the city. The tour should take around 20-30 minutes that starts from the mall then takes you to the location of the infamous ‘death march’ where you can learn a little about history too. I suggest doing this around 5pm to get that perfect golden hour lighting and really see the city some to life as it glows at magic hour. Then the driver will take you around to see the old, historical houses that really make you feel as if you’re transported back in time. Makes me wish we had more houses like that in Manila. There’s just something so beautiful about a home’s rich history and original architecture.
Then, once you’ve worked up an appetite, then go grab some pizza and hot dogs and head on down to SM City Pampanga to check out Sky Ranch. This was so much fun to do – mainly because it brought out the inner kid in me again. I got to ride carousels, eat cotton candy, and play all the games I wanted. I wasn’t really any good at the games but I didn’t give up until I won myself the stuffed toys up for grabs! haha! Believe me, it took a while – but I won them! It was so much fun to let loose! I got to re-live my childhood memories while screaming my heart out to good, old carnival rides that get your heart pumping just the right amount to give you that thrill that’s just the right balance of fear and fun. You can even hop on their famous ferris wheel that’s the biggest in the country!
