It’s amazing how many beautiful islands we have here in the Philippines. And somehow, no matter how many I’ve seen already, they all have their own unique charm that’s different from all the rest. I’m always happy to discover beautiful, new places and I didn’t know this tiny island (Sumilon) existed between Dumaguete and Cebu. When I was invited by BlueWater Sumilon, I went on this trip not knowing what to expect but I was so pleasantly surprised when I got there! Check out photos from our first day there and see what we got up to below…
Check out our awesome two-bedroom villa!
Both rooms were so spacious and had this awesome view
which were adjoined by this really cool outdoor set up.
Did I mention we had our own private pool?!
It was so hard to decide whether we wanted to stay by the beach or in the room! It was just too nice to leave.
The only thing that made it easy for us was the buffet waiting in the main dining hall. 🙂 haha!
Eventually, BlueWater told us we had the option to go explore the open sea with our own private boat which everyone was pretty excited about and you can see why.
The weather was just perfect to go exploring!
As I have mentioned before, I really do have a phobia of the open water and sea creatures specifically so I was a little hesitant to jump in the water to go snorkeling. But I didn’t wanna be the only lame person alone in the boat because I was too afraid of some tiny fish so I just had to (wo)man up and jump in!
At first, I made sure ‘kuya’ was very near me to save me just in case a little nemo decided to nibble on my feet! EEEK!
But after a lot of internal monologues and pep talking myself (yes, this really happened) I mustered up enough courage to wander off and explore the coral reef all by myself!
I know it doesn’t sound like much but this is a big step from how scared I used to be – trust me.
This was actually a good day for me to get my feet wet (and everything else) as our itinerary for day two was much more intense! More on that in my next blog post!
For now, I’ll leave you with this beautiful sunset and the reminder that the weekend is just minutes away 🙂
